Many thanks for your feedback, I appreciate your time.

In answer to your points :

(2) – There is no application scope – instead there are two options. Either use folders (which can be introduced by using forward slashes in the name of an item) to group items appropriately, or use separate databases. The latter is much easier than in BizTalk – you can use the Connect... menu from the Explorer tree to change database, or specify the connection string as a command-line parameter, and SmartsIntegrator Servers are associated with individual databases.

(3) You can do this with the general Tracking functionality, but I accept your feedback that it is fiddly and should be a dedicated function.

(4) $999 per machine license, once the current free licensing promotion ends.

(5) SmartsIntegrator does include a business rules engine as part of the Workflow module, though the documentation is currently a little sparse. You use the Policy Activity within a Workflow to define rule logic in terms of Workflow properties and VSTA methods – I’ll be happy to set you up a demo project if you wish.

Just a few observations.

1. I tested the Folder to Folder HelloWorld scenario and it worked fine. I have not had time
to test any other scenarios.

2. I could not find an application container as in 'Biztalk application'. Maybe I missed it.

3. I could not find a screen to track successful messages sent, only suspended and in flight
messages.

4. What is the cost of the product in a production environment?

5. Currently I have a customer who needs a business rules engine. I need to buy a Biztalk
license just to use the BRE functionality. That is an expensive proposition. Do you have any
BRE product?
